Mapping Technical Terms and Calculation Procedures in Premodern Chinese and Indian Astronomical Texts: The Nine Seizers Canon 九執曆 as a Case Study

This project aims to extend the ongoing digital project MATHesis and connect it with my master's thesis idea on the Nine Seizers Canon 九執曆. The Nine Seizers Canon is a Chinese astronomical text on Indian astronomy, associated with Gautama Siddha 瞿曇悉達, an astronomer from a Sinicized Indian family who worked in the Bureau of Astronomy at the Tang court.

The current plan is to add key terms, numbers, units, and calculation steps from the Nine Seizers Canon to the existing database I have created for MATHesis. A further step will be to reconstruct selected computational procedures to make it machine-readable and comparable.
